Too busy wiretapping candidates, rigging elections, Covering Their Asses

So police were called out to visit with Florida “Valentine’s Day” shooter-to-be Nikolas de Jesus Cruz THIRTY-NINE TIMES over the past seven years, for “mentally ill, domestic violence, assault, threats, Peeping Tom, shooting animals . . .” yet (as Loyal Correspondent Bear points out) neither cops nor school officials ever made use of the Florida Mental Health Act of 1971 (as revised 2009 — “The Baker Act”) to send him in for 72 hours’ involuntary evaluation, at which point someone MIGHT have decided to submit his name for a list limiting gun purchases?

OK . . . maybe. I admit I wouldn’t want to go back to a default setting in which we lock people up for years not for committing actual crimes but just for “crazy.”

But the FBI received TWO detailed tips since September that this guy was posting threats to become a “professional school shooter,” on YouTube . . . and did nothing?

The first report was they couldn’t track him down . . . even though he used his real name. ( http://www.breitbart.com/tech/2018/02/16/fbi-couldnt-track-down-florida-shooter-after-he-used-real-name-in-public-youtube-threat/ .) Now the FBI says the tip was never passed on from their telephone “hotline” to their Miami office, at all.

Whereas, if the caller had known enough to say, “Listen, I can’t talk long. I’m sitting here in this bar in New York, and you won’t believe what just happened. Donald Trump just came in and he ordered a black RUSSIAN! Honest! A black RUSSIAN! Not only that, there’s some broad with him, real attractive dame in high heels, she’s got a FOREIGN ACCENT, and she’s wearing this coat, I’m pretty sure the collar is, swear to God, RUSSIAN sable!”

Whoa, Nelly! Our FBI could have taken that one all the way to the secret FISA Court (which, it now turns out, doesn’t even keep any TRANSCRIPTS of what the FBI tells them, so there’s no way to review ANYTHING! — . . . https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2018/02/15/fisa-court-presiding-judge-rosemary-collyer-responds-to-chairman-nunes-and-chairman-goodlatte-request-for-fisc-documents/ .)

By now they’d be recording every phone call and e-mail of everyone in New York whose last name starts with “T”! Heck, half of them would probably be in jail by now for “lying to an FBI agent” because they said they had a “submarine sandwich” for lunch, when in fact they had a “hot oven grinder”! Ask Martha Stewart. Ask General Michael Flynn.

But after all, what do you expect? Our FBI is only geared up for the Big Stuff: Sending in Lon Horiuchi to pick off pregnant housewives; shooting in flammable tear gas from their tanks, setting church buildings on fire with “ferret rounds,” holding the fire engines a mile away while 50 or 60 women and children burn to a crisp. That’s the stuff that really makes Chuckie Schumer laugh and grin and cackle and promise everybody promotions and raises. Who’s got time to look into people threatening to shoot up schools when you’ve already got the shooter’s name? Where’s the challenge in that? So what if we lose a dozen blue-collar brats from time to time? It’s not like their parents work at Goldman Sachs or something.

Florida Gov. Rick Scott called today for FBI Director Christopher Wray to resign: “The FBI’s failure to take action against this killer is unacceptable. The FBI has admitted that they were contacted last month by a person who called to inform them of Cruz’s ‘desire to kill people,’ and ‘the potential of him conducting a school shooting,” Scott said.

“Seventeen innocent people are dead and acknowledging a mistake isn’t going to cut it. . . . We constantly promote ‘see something, say something,’ and a courageous person did just that to the FBI. And the FBI failed to act. . . . The FBI Director needs to resign.” (See: http://wfla.com/2018/02/16/fbi-says-person-contacted-agency-with-concerns-about-suspected-florida-school-shooter-but-it-failed-to-investigate/ .)

Golly gee. What do you suppose has kept Mr. Wray and his agents too busy to deal with little matters like mass murderers being turned in, in advance? I’d say one “Sally Mayweather” on Twitter got this one about right:

. . . and lo and behold, here’s a congressman with an actual solution: I give you Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky:
http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2018/02/16/rep-thomas-massie-repeal-federal-restrictions-let-teachers-carry-self-defense/

But you can bet no Democrat or Washington RINO is going to go for THAT. Something that would actually PREVENT SCHOOL SHOOTINGS? Why on earth would the victim-disarmament scum want to throw away one of their best Totalitarian talking points?

The FBI certainly needs to be eliminated, their building torn down and the land sown with salt… but they have only a peripheral responsibility for the outcome of this tragic attack on innocents in Florida.

Everyone seems to want freedom… but very few want any responsibility for their lives and actions. Everyone seems to want to control everyone else, but not themselves.

This person may (or may not) have been the killer at that high school… still not convinced of that – but so many people are now saying they saw the “signs” and knew of his intentions. Why didn’t anyone else, including his parents, DO anything themselves? Why would anyone trust that simply reporting such concerns be all that was needed? Why was the FBI involved at all to start with – much less trusted to prevent the tragedy. Where were the people of that community all the years this boy was living there – evidently in deep trouble all along.

    Hey Vin,

I just read another of your articles elsewhere. Lay off the “SSRIs cause shootings” bullshit, huh? I know it’s popular among the Limbaugh crowd to try to lay blame on SSRIs or anything else but the guns, but the fact is that for the vast majority of people taking them, we’re stabilized by them, not turned into psychopaths. If you want even more school shootings, cut off everyone’s medications so that they’re untreated.

And I know perfectly well that sometimes people have adverse reactions. One of my in-laws had to be strapped into a hospital bed for a week until they got one drug out of his system. Guess what? It’s pretty easy to tell when someone goes berserk because of a new prescription, and it can be STOPPED really easily.

Please give my regards to LNS; I hope he is doing better now. Kind regards,

Hi, Mama Liberty — Yes, the solutions have to be primarily local.

Though the shooter’s adoptive mother died of pneumonia in November, and the family that subsequently took him in says that — while he was a bit odd — they certainly hadn’t seen this coming.

Meantime, though, it turns out the Broward County School Board and local sheriff’s office — in order to reduce the APPEARANCE that their students were committing crimes at astronomical rates — purposely conspired to avoid arresting students there and sending them through the court/justice system, preferring to handle everything (including burglaries, vandalism,, etc.) as “school disciplinary matters” . . . AS A MATTER OF POLICY.

Which may help explain 39 police calls and an expulsion, yet no arrests, and no criminal or psychiatric record to interfere with the subject’s buying firearms — or otherwise tip anyone off that trouble was brewing.

    See: https://theconservativetreehouse.com/ . . . or, more specifically:

    Class-action lawsuits, anyone?
